Constructing Zanzibar’s First Standard NCU
In Zanzibar’s South District, birth asphyxia cases have surged by 153%. Without a dedicated center, these babies lack the specialized care they need to survive. We are scaling our proven NCU model to Zanzibar to build permanent, life-saving infrastructure. Join us in building their future.

The Doris Mollel Foundation is replicating its Kwimba NCU model Tanzania’s first government-integrated neonatal unit in Zanzibar. In the South District, birth complications are rising, yet there is no dedicated center equipped to handle specialized neonatal care. We are scaling our blueprint to construct permanent, high-standard facilities featuring High Dependency Units and Kangaroo Mother Care wards. Through this, we ensure that life-saving medical care is available at the district level. Your support builds the hospitals that ensure no newborn in Zanzibar is left behind.
